This home, located in the heart of Barcelona, presented one of the most common challenges in old buildings: a long, impractical corridor. The original layout didn’t allow us to reduce its presence, so we chose to give it value through design.
The proposal involved turning this passageway into an area with a character of its own. We clad one of the walls in wood to add warmth and texture, and integrated into it the doors leading to the bathroom, the kitchen and several wardrobes. In this way, the corridor becomes a functional and aesthetically rich element, full of small uses and details.
Lighting also played a key role. As it was the darkest area of the home, light points were designed that not only illuminate, but also help to showcase the materials and create a welcoming atmosphere consistent with the rest of the house.
